So far, lone wolf Jesse Loynes has only built one Arbor 26 boat. The prototype was also on show at the trade fair in Düsseldorf in January. The yacht builder from Thorney Island near Porthmouth commissioned his fellow countryman Simon Rogers - a renowned name in the ranks of yacht designers - to design his first work. The speciality of the Arbor 26: her hull is built with red cedar strips over a mallen frame.

In the YACHT test under sail, the Arbor 26 shows impeccable performance and shines with excellent sailing characteristics. Less glamorous: the quality of the fittings below deck and the workmanship in detail.

Find out more about the boat in the comprehensive test in the new YACHT, issue no. 9/2015, which is available from newsagents now.
